Laurel Pugh and Shanda Pearson Elected Shareholders

Bassford Remele is pleased to announce that Laurel J. Pugh and Shanda K. Pearson have been elected shareholders of the firm.
Laurel Pugh concentrates her practice in employment law, unfair competition, professional liability, and housing law. She represents clients in state and federal court and has argued before the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Ms. Pugh has responded to numerous Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Minnesota Department of Human Rights charges. She conducts internal employment investigations and employment law audits and has presented personnel policy training sessions to business clients. Ms. Pugh is a frequent lecturer on employment and housing discrimination issues and recently authored the Landlord-Tenant Law chapter in The Complete Lawyer’s Quick Answer Book for the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Ms. Pugh received her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she participated in a fellowship at the Equality Authority in Dublin, Ireland.
Shanda Pearson concentrates her practice in insurance coverage and medical malpractice. She also represents clients in state and federal court in various types of civil cases, including personal injury, products liability and wrongful death actions. Ms. Pearson has also been involved in a broad variety of appeals.
Ms. Pearson received her law degree magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law, from which she graduated in the top 5% of her class and where she was an assistant editor, staff member, and contributing author of the William Mitchell Law Review. Ms. Pearson is an active member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and served as a co-editor of Hearsay, which is published by the New Lawyers Section. She has been included in the Minnesota Rising Stars list each year since 2007 and was named a 2008 Up & Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer. Ms. Pearson is an associate of the Warren E. Burger Inn of Court.
