Bassford Remele is pleased to announce that Lewis A. Remele, Jr. has been included in the Circle of Excellence by Minnesota Lawyer, having been selected a second time as an Attorney of the Year. In 2011, Mr. Remele led a Bassford team that attained a $525 million arbitration award in a trade secret case and an additional $95 million in pre-award interest.
Mr. Remele has also been named the 2012 Minneapolis Best Lawyers Legal Malpractice Law - Defendants Lawyer of the Year. Mr. Remele received this honor because his peers consistently rated him as the top of his field. In 2009, Mr. Remele was named the Minnesota Best Lawyers Bet-the-Company Litigator of the Year.
Mr. Remele maintains a civil trial practice in both tort and commercial matters. He represents insurance companies in personal injury and coverage cases, and corporate clients in diverse commercial suits including employment, contracts, securities, and professional and fiduciary claims, including directors' and officers' liability, class actions, shareholder disputes, debtor/creditor, antitrust, products liability, and trusts and estate litigation. Mr. Remele also performs mediations and arbitrations and he is regularly selected by litigants and the courts to serve in all types of civil litigation. He is consistently named a "Super Lawyer" and was selected Best Lawyer in Minnesota by Minnesota Law & Politics in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2011. Mr. Remele is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Bar Foundation, the International Society of Barristers and Academy of International Trial Lawyers.
