Bassford Remele is a full service litigation firm located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founded in 1882, the firm represents local, national and international clients in all areas of civil litigation and dispute resolution.
Bassford Remele is pleased to announce that Shareholder John M. Anderson has been recertified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Civil Trial Specialist.
Certification refers to an attorney who has completed a rigorous approval process to establish full qualification for reliable experience and skills in their specialty area. The certification makes Mr. Anderson one of a limited number of attorneys in Minnesota to have earned the credential. Approximately 2% of the 1,300 attorneys belonging to the Minnesota State Bar Association Civil Litigation Section are board certified as civil trial specialists. Mr. Anderson has been board certified as a civil trial specialist since 1988. Certification is recognized in many professions as a reliable way to identify practitioners who have demonstrated superior knowledge, skill and integrity in a specific field.
The Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist credential is earned by successfully completing a day-long examination. The attorney must also demonstrate a substantial level of experience and legal education in trial skills. They must pass a disciplinary check and successfully obtain objective review by judges and attorneys who have actually seen them in court appearances. Compliance with certification standards is audited every year. Every six years the specialist must be recertified to insure that the attorney has maintained his or her experience.
In addition to Mr. Anderson, the following Bassford Remele attorneys have also been certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as Board Certified Civil Trial Specialists:
Edward F. Fox
Stanford P. Hill
Mark P. Hodkinson
Michael Klutho
Andrew L. Marshall
Rebecca Egge Moos
Mr. Anderson is a trial lawyer with more than 25 years of experience who handles complex multiparty cases in the areas of insurance coverage, products liability, construction and employment. He serves as counsel for national and international insurance companies in environmental and toxic tort claims, and he represented the prevailing party in the first reported decision in Minnesota interpreting the pollution exclusion in an environmental contamination context.
