Patrick Sauter Receives MDLA President's Award

Bassford Remele is pleased to announce that Shareholder Patrick J. Sauter is the recipient of the 2009 Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association (MDLA) President's Award. Mr. Sauter received this honor in appreciation of his dedication, efforts and creativity. For six years, he served on the MDLA Board of Directors and as MDLA President in 2006-07. Mr. Sauter continues to be active in the association, helping to successfully launch the first MDLA Trial Academy earlier this year.
Mr. Sauter has tried more than 100 jury trials to verdict in the areas of personal injury, construction law, insurance coverage, product liability, and trusts and estates. Clients retain Mr. Sauter on the most difficult and complex cases often involving multi-million dollar damage claims. That same level of excellence extends into his commitment to pro bono work. For years he was involved with Legal Advice Clinics (n/k/a Volunteer Lawyers Network) and served on the LAC Board. More recently, he has devoted substantial time to the Chrysalis Pro Bono Safety Project for victims of domestic violence and in 2006, received the Award of Excellence for his service and commitment to the Project.
Mr. Sauter has served as the State Chairman for the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA) and was selected to be a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is a frequent lecturer on topics of civil litigation and has published articles on a wide range of legal topics. Minnesota Law & Politics has consistently named him a "Super Lawyer."
