Mark Whitmore to Speak on Negligent Credentialing Issue

Bassford Remele Shareholder Mark R. Whitmore will address the Minnesota State Bar Association's Health Law Section on the topic of Larson v. Wasemiller and Negligent Credentialing: An Insider's Guide to the Case and Its Implications on Friday, October 19. Mr. Whitmore represents the Minnesota Hospital Association, the Minnesota Medical Association and the American Medical Association in the Larson case and filed an Amicus Brief to the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Supreme Court on their behalf. [Link to News Release -- Minnesota Court of Appeals to Address Negligent Credentialing Issue.] In the Larson case, the Minnesota Court of Appeals will decide whether Minnesota should recognize negligent credentialing and negligent privileging of physicians by a hospital as a viable cause of action under Minnesota law.
Mr. Whitmore's practice focuses on civil litigation, including defending medical malpractice claims and providing guidance to area hospitals on risk management, claim prevention and governmental investigations.
