Agribusiness Industry

When it comes to agribusiness, we represent a wide range of clients – from several of the world's leading food and agriculture companies to small, local farmer cooperatives. We’ve handled all manner of agribusiness cases, including wrongful death and personal injury suits stemming from propane explosions, to property damage and catastrophic fires caused by electrical issues, to contract disputes between national operations and their suppliers. Beyond the courtroom, we also use our knowledge of the agricultural industry to advise clients, including insurers, on many other important legal topics, such as employment law, risk management, and more.

With our deep experience, we adeptly navigate the complexities of this area of the law. Agribusiness fire and explosion claims are particularly time-sensitive and complex. In recent years, we’ve managed more than 500 of these cases, and thanks to long-standing relationships with an extensive national network of experts, we can assemble a team quickly – in less than 24 hours – to dig in at the scene and build our case.

Some of our successes include defending an agricultural supply cooperative in a wrongful death propane explosion case and obtaining a defense jury verdict; obtaining dismissal for an oil company in a propane explosion case that caused significant burn injuries and damage to multiple properties; defending a propane and oil company in a property damage matter and obtaining a jury defense verdict; obtaining a directed verdict for an industrial cleaning company in a gas refinery overhaul case, and winning summary judgment for a residential propane supplier in a home explosion that resulted in serious burn injuries and property damage.
