On August 17, 2022, Bassford Remele continued its monthly “DEI Awareness Event” initiative that promotes awareness of diverse cultures and perspectives. The program highlights ways the firm can support the community through cultural awareness. In addition to discussing timely topics, food is catered through local minority-owned businesses.
A Bassford DEI Team subcommittee of Mark R. Whitmore, Beth L. LaCanne, and Anu Chudasama hosted and led a firm luncheon and discussion about important cultural events occurring in August. Those events included Women’s Equality Day, International Day of the World’s Indigenous People, Al-Hijra (Islamic New Year), and Janmashtami. In addition, attendees enjoyed lunch from The Sioux Chef and Sammy’s Avenue Eatery. Trivia contest winners received prizes to Lakota Made LLC, an Indigenous-Woman-owned small business.
Bassford Remele proudly serves as local and national counsel for many major corporations and Fortune 500 Companies and is a go-to litigation firm representing local, national, and international clients in state and federal courts across the region.
