Consumer Law Defense Client Alert: MN Dept. of Commerce Data Request: Collectors Working From Home

NEWS

We are pleased to report that following our communications with the Minnesota Department of Commerce, the Department has implemented a “work from home” program applicable to the coronavirus pandemic. Please see the attached.

The Department has asked us to alert Agencies to alert the Department if an Agency takes advantage of this program and to assemble certain information outlined in the communication below from the Department. The Department will use this information to determine whether this temporary program might be rolled out permanently after the pandemic is over. Please actively engage with the Department on this as requested as our joint efforts can help demonstrate that our Industry can compliantly and remotely collect consumer debts.

The message below is from the MN Department of Commerce.
