Uzodima Franklin Aba-Onu Elected President of MABL and Recognized as Diversity & Inclusion Honoree


Uzodima Franklin Aba-Onu has been elected President of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers. He was also recognized as a Diversity and Inclusion honoree by Minnesota Lawyer. In addition, Mr. Aba-Onu was included in the inaugural edition of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for his work in Labor and Employment Litigation.

Mr. Aba-Onu serves on the Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Minnesota Chapter. He is an Appointed Member of the Minnesota Judicial Council, Committee for Equality and Justice. Mr. Aba-Onu is also a Board Member for St. Stephen’s Human Services, an Adjunct Professor and Mentor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, and Co-Chair of the Bassford Remele Pro Bono Committee.

Mr. Aba-Onu was selected to join the African American Leadership Forum’s (AALF) Collective Impact Workstreams. This critical initiative helps solve some of the African American community’s most pressing challenges as they continue to cope with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Black community. Mr. Aba-Onu is working with the Economic Development Team for Black-owned businesses on the “Buy the Block” Initiative.
