In this program, Patrick will explore the intersection of federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) standards and Minnesota’s newly enacted Debt Fairness Act (MDFA). The session will address significant reforms—including bans on medical debt reporting, spousal liability, and robocalls—and examine how these changes impact creditor practices, litigation strategies, and compliance obligations, particularly in medical debt collection.
