Overview
Amanda is a litigator who focuses her practice on data privacy, consumer protection, product liability, and antitrust-complex litigation and class actions. She is the Chair of the Complex Litigation Practice Group.
In addition to her work in complex litigation, Amanda is committed to pro bono work. She was previously part of a team that represented a class of civilly committed sex offenders challenging the constitutionality of Minnesota’s commitment statutes in Karsjens, et al. v. Jesson (D. Minn.). She was recognized by the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association with the “Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award” in 2011. Amanda has also been recognized as a North Star Lawyer for providing at least 50 hours of pro bono legal services in a calendar year to individuals in need.
Amanda is an active member of several bar associations serving both local and national areas of interest. In the past, she has served as a committee-chair for the Minnesota Women Lawyers Scholarship Fund as well as the liaison board member to the Hennepin County Bar Association. Amanda is currently serving on the board of The Infinity Project, a group focused on mentoring women to increase diversity on the bench at the state and federal level.

Amanda graduated magna cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in psychology and criminal justice. She earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, Amanda clerked for the Minnesota Tax Court. Upon graduating from law school, Amanda served as a law clerk for The Honorable Gordon Shumaker, Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Amanda is originally from Rochester, Minnesota and, despite being raised in the shadows of the Mayo Clinic and having many physicians in her family, she took the alternative route to law school. Currently Amanda lives in Minneapolis, where her son and husband constantly remind her of how short she is by placing things out of reach in their house. When she is not driving her son to his various activities, Amanda enjoys reading, watching random documentaries, listening to true-crime podcasts and pondering exercise.
