Overview

Ms. Homolka focuses her practice in commercial litigation, employment law, intellectual property litigation, and appellate law.

Ms. Homolka represents professionals and businesses in shareholder disputes, non-compete, and other contract disputes. She also defends clients in a variety of intellectual property matters including trademark claims and counterclaims. When court victories need to be preserved or courts need to be persuaded in another court’s error, Ms. Homolka helps clients navigate the appellate process. She recently argued and won an appeal, affirming the district court’s grant of summary judgment to her client.  

Ms. Homolka served as a law clerk with the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and as a legal extern with the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. She is a magna cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law.

Representative Cases

Obtained appellate victory in which the Minnesota Court of Appeals upheld the district court’s grant of summary judgment to client; Williams v. Canterbury Inn Shakopee, LLC, 2015 WL 7941155 (Minn. Ct. App. Dec. 7, 2015).

Obtained dismissal of all claims against client with prejudice in personal injury case where plaintiff refused to comply with the court’s discovery orders.

Part of appellate team that obtained permission to file a successive Application for a Writ of Habeas Corpus from the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, on behalf of pro bono client.
