Ms. Brekke focuses her practice in the areas of commercial litigation, appellate law, products liability, and intellectual property litigation.

Ms. Brekke defends and prosecutes lawsuits involving trademark and copyright infringement, as well as lawsuits alleging defective products and toxic torts. Ms. Brekke regularly advocates for clients in appeals and has successfully argued before the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Also experienced in trusts and estates litigation and employment law, Ms. Brekke works with trust beneficiaries, trustees, and other fiduciaries in resolving will and trust conflicts. In her employment practice, Ms. Brekke has defended discrimination claims in court and with various administrative agencies.

Prior to joining Bassford Remele, Ms. Brekke served as a law clerk on the Minnesota Supreme Court for Justice Natalie E. Hudson and Justice Margaret H. Chutich. Ms. Brekke graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, she gained experience litigating cases in federal court and immigration court through the law school’s Federal Immigration Litigation Clinic.

Ms. Brekke serves as co-chair of Minnesota Women Lawyers’ Emerging Lawyers Affinity Group, RISE, and is also an active member of the Federal Bar Association, Minnesota Chapter. Ms. Brekke participates on the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, Recruiting Committee, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Team. She is passionate about her pro-bono work, which includes representing asylum seekers in immigration court proceedings.
