Construction, Real Estate and Residential Property Management
Mr. Andresen is a creative and collaborative advocate for clients in construction and commercial matters, having litigated and arbitrated hundreds of disputes throughout his career.
Mr. Andresen has extensive experience with construction cases involving building and product defects, MCIOA warranties, indemnity rights, mechanic’s liens and other payment claims, insurance coverage, surety bonds, OSHA citations, and premises liability. Mr. Andresen has obtained successful jury verdicts and arbitration awards for clients in more than a dozen construction cases, but he understands that parties prefer to avoid disputes when possible, so he works with clients to manage and transfer risk through contract negotiation on the front end of projects. Based on his vast experience, Mr. Andresen is regularly asked to testify on construction law matters at the Minnesota State Legislature.
Mr. Andresen also represents corporations and individuals in complex commercial matters, including multidistrict litigation and a recent case where he obtained a $4.75 million jury verdict for a client in a fraudulent transfer action. He also handles class-action matters, such as In re NHL Players’ Concussion Injury Litigation, where he plays a central role in nationwide litigation.
Mr. Andresen is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© for Construction Law and Commercial Litigation and has been named by Super Lawyers magazine as one of the Top 100 Minnesota Super Lawyers in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Benchmark Litigation has identified him as a Local Litigation Star since 2016.
