Bassford Remele Construction Group Co-Chair Kyle Willems and Attorney Benjamin Gilchrist recently published "Keeping an Eye on the Clock: Important Legal Deadlines That Construction Professionals Should Be Tracking" for the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota. The article provides construction professionals with 1) a summary of two categories of legal deadlines and how to find them, 2) a summary of best practices for tracking deadlines, and 3) a table that can serve as a cheat sheet for some of the most common legal deadlines. Kyle Willems is a litigator primarily practicing in business and tort litigation. His business litigation practice mainly focuses on the real estate and construction sectors, where he guides clients through construction defect, mechanic’s lien, contract and quasi-contract, commercial, and general liability disputes. As a tort litigator, Kyle concentrates on complex cases that involve wrongful death, serious bodily injury, and substantial property damage.

Benjamin Gilchrist is a litigation attorney, focusing his practice in the areas of construction, real estate, consumer law defense, and trust and estates litigation. Benjamin has experience managing complex construction defect cases involving multiple parties. His practice includes taking depositions, preparing pleadings, and drafting and arguing dispositive motions. Benjamin also has experience with land-use issues, including zoning disputes. Benjamin graduated cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He is licensed in Minnesota, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
