Bassford Remele is one of only a handful of Minnesota firms with significant experience handling sexual misconduct claims. Over the course of the last 25 years, our team has seen success for a number of schools, hospitals, youth groups, and religious organizations facing charges of liability for the sexual misconduct of one of their employees or volunteers.

Knowing the deeply sensitive nature of these cases, and the potential for a high media profile, our attorneys work closely with clients to develop a strategy that will make for the strongest defense and keep the case off the evening news. Represented a long-term care facility’s staff, obtaining an award finding no liability in an alleged physical and sexual abuse of a nursing home resident.

Represented a day care, successfully resolving claims related to alleged student-on-student sexual abuse.

Represented a head start school and teacher’s aide in district court and on appeal, winning summary judgment in a case involving negligence, negligent supervision, and sexual abuse claims.
